A 100% Multiexpertise consortium, led by TSO (lead contractor), EGENIE, TSO SIGNALISATION, SAGES RAIL, Guintoli, NGE GENIE CIVIL and NGE FONDATIONS has been selected to carry out the regeneration works on the Montréjeau-Luchon line, the first railway line to benefit from a transfer of infrastructure management between SNCF Réseau and a French region (Occitanie).
This project has a major objective: to provide residents of the region with a safe, decarbonised, alternative mobility solution.
The scope of the works includes railway platform and road works, the installation of rockfall protection and the reinforcement of earth structures and nailed walls, the civil engineering of platforms for the repair and replacement of structures, drainage and hydraulic works, and finally, track, signalling, and railway safety works.
Prior to these works, Guintoli, EGENIE and TSO SIGNALISATION teams also carried out track removal: 37 km of rails and sleepers were removed, stored, sorted, and then recycled.
At the same time, since November 2023, TSO has been providing project management assistance to the region, offering its maintenance expertise during all phases: design, construction, handover, and ensuring compliance with regulatory procedures.
This project also marks TSO’s first infrastructure management service contract. From early 2025 and for two and a half years, TSO will ensure that all elements of the line allow trains to run in compliance with safety and punctuality requirements. TSO will oversee the line’s monitoring, upkeep, and maintenance, ensuring 24/7 availability.
