A 100% Multiexpertise consortium, led by EGENIE (leader), Guintoli, TSO CATENAIRES and TSO SIGNALISATION has been chosen by the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille (GPMM) to carry out the works to modernise the rail infrastructure at the Graveleau container terminal in Fos-sur-Mer.Â
This project is part of a plan launched by the port to modernise the rail network in the western basins, to cope with the increase in container traffic and hence rail freight. Ultimately, the project will provide the Graveleau terminal with dedicated rail infrastructure to improve rail transfer capacity.
The scope of the work includes earthworks, removal and installation of track, railheads and switches, modification of the track plan, creation of railheads, as well as catenary and signalling work.Â
A wide range of equipment was used to carry out this work, including a tamping machine, a stabiliser, road-rail shovels and four PEM-LEM gantries. It also involved 3 one-off operations.
Thanks to this project, TSO is demonstrating its ability, and that of the NGE Group, to carry out major restructuring and modernisation projects without disrupting the normal operation of infrastructures such as the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille.
