France, Avignon – The NGE Group and Alstom will provide civil engineering and track laying services for the tramway

The Greater Avignon Urban Community Authority and Tecelys have awarded the NGE/Alstom consortium the contract to carry out a track bed civil engineering, track laying and surfacing project for the Avignon tramway.

The Greater Avignon Urban Community Authority and Tecelys have awarded the NGE/Alstom consortium the contract to carry out a track bed civil engineering, track laying and surfacing project for the Avignon tramway.

 

The consortium led by the NGE Group via its subsidiary TSO has won the public call for tenders for the contract to lay 5.4 kilometres of track bed and 10.8 kilometres of track, to include 8 sets of points, 10 stations and a maintenance centre. The project includes the design, supply, civil engineering and installation of track beds and rails. The 20 months of on-site work is expected to be completed in January 2019.

The consortium members are NGE Group subsidiary TSO, Alstom, Guintoli, EHTP and Agilis. This project will also provide an opportunity to promote the policy implemented by all the companies involved to ensure that 8% of the total hours worked will be dedicated to employment integration programmes.
