🇫🇷 Catenary regeneration RER C
A consortium led by TSO CATENAIRES (leader), SETEC Ferroviaire, ETF and Mobilité has won the catenary regeneration contract on RER line C, between Paris and Brétigny-sur-Orge.
This project, the largest catenary replacement project in France, is part of an overall plan, led by SNCF Réseau, to modernise the rail network in the Ile-de-France region.
This aim is to equip this line with a high-performance catenary, capable of absorbing the increase in traffic over the next few years and allowing for temperature variations of up to 70 degrees.
The scope of works includes the regeneration of 180 km of catenary from the south of the Bibliotheque François-Mitterrand station to the south of Bretigny-sur-Orge. The RER C has a polygonal catenary system, powered by 1,500 V direct current.
This work is being carried out without stopping traffic. The aim is therefore to reduce the impact of the work being carried out on a daily basis for the thousands of passengers who use this line.
Innovation, driven by our catenary teams, is at the heart of this project. In order to save time and improve site efficiency, work trains have been designed, including a work train for foundation work and a work train dedicated to the installation of the catenary support in the pole trench.
This new project demonstrates the ability of our teams to apply our expertise in construction and innovation to the most ambitious and far-reaching projects.
