🇫🇷 Infrastructure manager under agreement for the Compiègne – La Motte Breuil line
A consortium, led by TSO subsidiary OFFROY (lead contractor) and Europorte (Eurotunnel Group) has been awarded a 15-year contract to operate the FRET n° 317 000 line between Compiègne and La Motte Breuil (Picardy).
This is the first contract of its kind in the Haut-de-France region for the NGE Group. As a reminder, the role of an infrastructure manager is to ensure that trains can run on the line by carrying out a number of tasks, including maintenance, upkeep and renewal of the infrastructure, and operational management of traffic on the network.
For our teams, this new contract involves the complete refurbishment of 13.5 kilometres of the line, the refurbishment of engineering structures and level crossings, and the management of maintenance throughout this period.
The Compiègne – La Motte Breuil line is a single-track line on which goods trains can travel at 40 km/h. This line also includes 15 level crossings, 1 120-metre-long engineering structure over the River Oise, as well as road and water crossing structures. This line also has 3 sidings, 1 of which is used to transport hazardous materials (chemicals: the 95,000 tonnes of products transported each year can only be transported by rail, with a frequency of 4 to 5 returns trips per week.
This new project demonstrates the determination of TSO, via its subsidiary OFFROY, and of the NGE Group to develop its expertise in the concession and management of railway infrastructure.
