🇫🇷 Switches renewal in Saint-Brieuc
TSO, together with its subsidiaries OLICHON and TSO CATENAIRES, mobilised with SNCF Réseau, took part in track device replacement and track renewal work at Saint-Brieuc station (22) on the Dinan-Saint-Brieuc line as part of the RAVI programme.Â
This project is part of a wider programme to renew and modernise the railway lines in the Brittany region. The aim is to improve the performance of this railway line and ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.
The scope of the work includes the replacement of 12 track devices and the renewal of 2 km of ballast track, all without high-impact operations.
This project notably required the use of the 24+8 Long Welded Rail (LWR) procedure.
This technique allow the LWR to freely expand during the duration of the work and prevents potential track deformation, thus mitigating the risk of derailment. As a result, it enables the welded track to be completed within a day and a night work period, minimising disruptions.
This project demonstrates the commitment of TSO and its subsidiaries to the modernisation of the railway network in the Brittany region, as well as our teams’ ability to meet the needs of our clients throughout France.Â
